Which factors impact client learning?

Learning is at the core of coaching and it may be argued that coaching outcomes are directly related to the quality of learning facilitated within the coaching relationship. If this is true, the factors that affect client learning warrant investigation and awareness.

This issue of Coaching Research in Practice sheds light on this topic. It reviews a recent research paper which synthesises 110 peer-reviewed qualitative studies to examine the interpersonal and intrapersonal dynamics in coaching, the client change process and the client factors and contextual conditions that affect client engagement and coaching efficacy.
