The critical influence of coachability

Coachability is a critical ingredient in successful coaching. A solid understanding of coachability supports coaches in maximising coaching outcomes and this is beneficial to clients, coaches and coaching itself. Nevertheless, the importance of coachability is often overlooked by practitioners and researchers alike and research into the area is still in its infancy.

 

 

This issue of Coaching Research in Practice considers a recent study of employee coachability within a managerial coaching setting. It sheds light on the nature and impact of coachability and highlights ways in which coaches can foster coachability with their clients.
