CLEAN up your coaching act

Posted on: 17 Feb 2023

When someone asks me what the most simple yet powerful coaching tool there is, I say, hands down, it’s Clean Language.

I also say, if you’re not using Clean Language in your coaching sessions, you and your clients are seriously missing out.

What’s more, MCCs I talk to say that of all the tools they have learnt along the way, Clean Language is the one they continually come back to.

Judy Rees, Clean Language expert, author, facilitator, trainer and assessor explains Clean Language as an impressively versatile tool for understanding people, how they think and how they change, through an “amazing combination of questions, listening and metaphor.” It’s a fast track to building trust, asking more powerful questions, listening more specifically, and creating and leveraging metaphors. With Clean Language in your coaching toolkit, you can find out what your clients are really thinking and feeling, deepen your connection with them and accelerate the changes they desire.

We think Clean Language should be part of basic coach training, and that’s why ReciproCoach has, for the sixth year running, teamed up with Judy Rees, to bring you the Clean Language Training Round. The ReciproCoach Clean Language Training Round will give you access to Judy’s course, Clean Language Essentials For Coaches. Six 30-minute video classes will train you in six specific Clean Language techniques, They also show you how you can use Clean Language to improve your practical results with your clients, alongside your existing coaching models and approaches.

The ReciproCoach Clean Language Training Round combines this training with 6 sessions of peer coaching both as a coach and a client. You will work with two different people for a total of 12 sessions, and with structured debriefing following each session, you’ll get to apply and experientially deepen your learning as you go.

Find out more about our introductory Clean Language Training Round here (including participant testimonials across five years), or, if you know you want this essential skill in your coaching toolkit, go ahead and register here.

Past participants will be happy to know that you can reinvigorate your use of the Clean Language skills in our Clean Language Practice Round. You may also like to sign up for the Clean Language group mentoring session (as a participant or observer) with Judy. Available for separate registration, and not included in the training round, the Clean Language group mentoring session will give you the opportunity to get/observe expert feedback on your/others’ Clean Language application within coaching sessions.
