How to make the most of social media?

Posted on: 17 Oct 2019

When you consider that current social media statistics report that there are more than 3.2 billion social media users around the world – almost half the world’s population – it’s not hard to see how valuable social media can be in boosting the online visibility of your coaching business.

Despite this, there’s no point just jumping onto Facebook or Twitter and posting something random. In fact, this can have negative effects on your professional image and business!

Marketing professional and digital marketing specialist, Lara Wellman, pins down the best way to effectively use social media for your business in just eight clear steps:

  1. Know what you’re trying to achieve. (Why are you using social media?)
  2. Know who you’re talking to. (Who is your audience?)
  3. Know what you want them to know. (What do you want your audience to know about you and what you do?)
  4. Pick your channels (Which are the best social media channels for your business?)
  5. Know your numbers (How many likes, followers, retweets etc do you have or are you getting?)
  6. Start sharing your knowledge (What tips, tricks and strategies do you know?)
  7. Don’t think you need to create it all (Which blogs/channels do you value?)
  8. Evaluate (What’s working, what isn’t, and how can you shift and change to improve?).
Even though it sounds simple, for many coaches it’s not particularly easy! So if you’ve tried unsuccessfully in the past, or if you’re yet to explore the value of social media in your coaching business, then you should check out next month’s Grow your Business with Social Media Peer Coaching Round – there’s a reason why we’re offering this round for a fourth year running, as testimonials from past participants will attest!

Based on a step-by-step guide developed by Lara Wellman, this round combines Lara’s 30 day program and supplementary email support lessons with the power of peer coaching to deliver a 6 week program that, thanks to the ReciproCoach peer coaching component, will ensure you put in place a clear and consistent social media strategy that you can follow in the weeks, months and years to come. I have to say, I participated in this round myself one or two years ago and the ReciproCoach social media channels have been working ever since.

The Grow your Business with Social Media Peer Coaching Round will walk you through learning how to connect, promote, endorse, engage, and interact with your clients and potential clients. While focused on Facebook and Twitter, the strategies can be applied to any social media platform, as you can see on the ReciproCoach LinkedIn group.
